What a lovely sight my resident Robin brought his offspring for a visit, Okay he may not have planned it but as he's a regular in my garden he didn't seem to mind me watching from my sun lounger. Here's some photo's my hubby took below .www.addo-pix.com Baby robin was with us on the path for all to see all afternoon and evening, I had to keep Marley the dog inside. Robin was busy as he had another fledgling in next doors garden so I helped him out with tiny bits of sausage which they all seemed to love. I was little worried what would happen after dark but encouraged by dad the fledgling hopped across our garden though a hole in the fence to meet his sibling next door. Dad looked like he knew a safe place for them to spend the night. I do hope so as I've not seen the chicks since but I have dad. Fingers crossed! As you may already know at Pretty Vintage house we love creating teacup bird feeders and teapot bird houses some of which are used in our garden. Here's Robin Redbreast from a early visit on his favourite design. Here's some more designs available in our local boutique www.facebook.com/The-Gallery-something-old-something-new-542405639190386/ or online in our etsy store Prettyvintagehouse Why not treat yourself or some one else with any luck you could have a resident robin too!

May be I get easily excited but I can't wait get see whats on the film inside this Vintage kodak film pot. Now you can find these quite easily they're not extremely rare but when I bought it I never even looked inside it. The lovely bright yellow drew me to it and I had to have it! I had it on my desk for several weeks before checking it out, but when I did I've found a roll of negatives which had 4 good photo's and 4 blended into one. There must of been a problem with the camera. Lucky for me I know a Photographer who can show me them in more detail, he also thinks the type of negatives are quite rare. I can't wait to find out more, I know there's a vintage car in them and people which looks like the 60's era but for now I'll have to wait and see.
Here's a couple of vintage camera's I have for sale although not bought with this Kodak pot t.www.etsy.com/shop/Prettyvintagehouse/items?search_query=camera It's official after having pets, both cats and dogs for many years I've turned into a mad old dog lady! Not only is our latest rescue pooch allowed upstairs he's allowed on the sofa something thats never been allowed before. He likes his treats and I can see in years to come I'll be the grandparent from hell sending the little darlings home full of E numbers, sugar and the noise making presents I was told not to buy!
It's a bit like hubby and the kids telling me "Marley does not need a sun hat." What do they know? he looks lovely and it protects his eyes from the sun! Just hope my mad old dog lady hasn't set in too deep I'll be buying outfits next! If your as daft as I am about your dog these caps and others can be found on eBay. I hope you've all had a great weekend folks, what a glorious weekend it was weather wise. Fingers crossed for more! Over the weekend it was my wedding anniversary it's been 24 years since we said I do on a Kenyan beach, We nearly didn't make it after suffering Dysentery followed by 9 months of work but that's a story for another time. Due to this I can be a bit picky with food but have to share with you my favourite place to eat. www.figs.uk.com/index.php I've been several times with the girls so it was time to introduce him from the shed to afternoon tea fig style. It's delicious and I must remember to eat the scone first out of the puddings it's a struggle to squeeze in after everything else but I'm not a quitter! I also love that we get some prossecco bucks fizz and our tea served in Royal Albert old country roses vintage teacups. if I had to pick a favourite piece of the meal I can't, it's all freely made and none of this packet or frozen stuff some the pub chains use. Your just going to have to have a trip to Cleethorpes and try it.
I'll leave you with this vintage advice on marriage, and pray for more sunshine I need an excuse to be outside and not do the ironing! Well it's not very spring like here today and after planing a quiet weekend at home, I was hoping to get some gardening done. That's totally out of the question, as gardening is no fun in the rain, even the dog doesn't fancy a walk. So I've managed to spring clean my bedroom everything been washed, polished or hoovered. On the plus side of 2 large bin bags for charity/recycle and a small rubbish bag I now have room for new clothes! Every rain cloud :) On the down side, I realise there is 7 more rooms to go. Next weekend I'm planning to socialise, quiet home time is too much like hard work. Here's some Vintage cleaning tips if you feel a spring clean coming on, or you could just scroll past until the feeling passes! Living in a sleepy village near the banks of the humber can be pretty quiet. But one weekend of the year the villagers come together for the weekend For Barrow's barrows. It raises money for charity and the village. It's great fun for all the family especially when the sun shines. With open gardens and don't be fooled by a small cottage frontage the back garden is often bigger than a football pitch. Drinks, homemade cake and strawberries and cream available on the route in the pop charity coffee shops and gardens. Wheelbarrows decorated throughout and a mouse hunt for the little ones. Music, stalls, punch and Judy and not forgetting the horse and cart rides available in the market place. www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/whats-on/family-kids/record-number-wheelbarrows-go-display-1629391 I really should have took more photos' but I bought to many plants on my way round so had my hands full and they were only 25p a plant! So if you fancy a Sunday stroll next year remember the first weekend of June but get here early by lunch time it's really busy
.www.visitnorthlincolnshire.com/item/barrow-upon-humber-2/ I'm loving this pretty blue glass I found last week and think it makes a perfect bird feeder. So much more pleasing to the eye than some of the more modern ones.. This is now on display and available for sale at the The Gallery, something old, something new in Barton upon Humber. Here's some more of my designs, lets keep it pretty!
www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Prettyvintagehouse?section_id=16325114 What a lucky find for me! A Cottage ware collectors dream. Not only have I found a teapot, teacups, saucers, side plates and a butter dish but also the coffee pot and two Biscuit barrels/cookie jars These being harder to find as the rectangle cottage one with a handle was more common. I also have some other cottage ware items by other makers and the Price Kensington butter dish but it's not listed yet Here's hoping the snow has gone and spring is finally on it's way I need another treasure hunt.
Latest Custom order finished, I'm loving the pretty blue teacups and I'm led to believe it's going in a kitchen. I bet it looks great I do hope so as I loose sleep once they're dispatched waiting nervously for that delivery confirmation Looking forward to a deep sleep tonight!
No vintage outfit it complete with out some gloves, these are perfect for spring.Prettyvintagehouse Spring must be just around the corner as Marley and I spotted these lovely snowdrops on our walk the other day. Hopefully the sprouting daffs and crocus will flower soon.
